We Did Not Inherit a Haveli
Most hotels in Jaisalmer will tell you about a building their family has held for generations. We cannot, because we are the first generation to do this.
Luxoria was built, not inherited. Chandraveer Singh put it up in Achalvanshi Colony and opened the doors in 2025. There is no ancestral property behind it and no century-old story to tell. What there is, is a building that was designed from the ground up to be a hotel, by someone who is here every day watching it work.
That turns out to matter more than a lineage does.
What Being New Actually Means
An old haveli in Jaisalmer is a beautiful thing to look at. It is a harder thing to sleep in.
Those buildings were put up before anyone thought about air conditioning, plumbing that runs at four in the morning, or where a lift would go. Owners work around that as best they can, and mostly they manage. Sometimes they do not, and you find out in May when the room will not cool, or in December when the hot water runs out halfway through a shower.
We started with an empty plot. So the wiring is new, the plumbing is new, the air conditioning was sized for a Jaisalmer summer rather than fitted in afterwards, and there is a lift that reaches every floor including the rooftop restaurant. A ramp at the entrance, and rooms on the ground floor. None of that is possible to retrofit into a two-hundred-year-old building, which is why so few hotels here have it.
The look is still Rajput. Hand-carved jharokhas, sandstone arches, jaali screens that throw patterned light across the corridors all afternoon. We kept the parts of a haveli that are worth keeping and skipped the parts that only look good in photographs.
Who Runs This

Chandraveer Singh owns Luxoria and runs it himself. He is usually somewhere on the property, and if something is wrong with your room you will most likely end up telling him directly rather than filing a complaint with a chain.
This is the first hotel in the family. There is no group behind it and no head office in another city. That means decisions get made on the spot, and it also means the person who answers your WhatsApp message at eleven at night is the person who owns the place.
What We Do Not Do
We do not print room rates on this website, because they move with the season and a stale number helps nobody. Message us and you will have today's rate in a few minutes.
We do not ask for a card to hold a booking, and we do not take prepayment. Cancel up to 48 hours before check-in and there is nothing to settle.
We do not run a call centre. The number on this site reaches the front desk, and the front desk is staffed around the clock.
And we do not make couples explain themselves at check-in. Local ID is accepted, and that is the end of it.
The Building
Luxoria sits in Achalvanshi Colony, just past Golden City Hospital. Jaisalmer Fort is 1.8 km away, about six minutes by car or a twenty minute walk if the evening has cooled down. Patwon Ki Haveli is closer still at 1.4 km, and the railway station is 2.8 km.
Close enough to walk back from dinner. Far enough that the bazaar noise does not follow you into the room.
Three room types, from 350 to 650 sq ft. A rooftop restaurant that looks across at the fort, open to anyone, not just guests. A travel desk downstairs that books camel safaris at Sam and jeep rides through the dunes.
